Join the community for a conversation with author, poet, and social activist, Luis Rodriguez. For the past 25 years, Rodriguez has been documenting life on the streets of Los Angeles and Chicago. His works, Hearts and Hands: Making Pedace in a Violent Time, and Always Running: La Vida Loca, Gang Days in L.A. give voice and hope to young people in often-forgotten immigrant communities.

Foreign Relations Committee, Commerce Committee,
and Chairman of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. Serves in the Senate Democratic Leadership as Chairman of the Steering
and Coordination Committee. Former Assistant District Attorney and Lieutenant Governor. Senator Kerry served
in the Navy during the Vietnam War, in which he received
a Silver Star, Bronze Star and three awards of the Purple Heart for his service in combat.
Deborah Prothrow-StithCurrently serves as professor of Public Health Practice and Associate Dean at the Harvard School of Public Health. Nationally recognized public health leader. Developed and wrote the first violence prevention curriculum, "Peace by Piece," and co-authored Deadly Consequences, the first book to present the public health perspective on violence to a mass audience.
Margot Stern StromExecutive Director and President of Facing History & Ourselves National Foundation, a national educational organization that supports teachers and their students in a study of history and ethics. Frequent speaker, author and co-author of numerous books and other educational materials including Facing History & Ourselves: Holocaust and Human Behavior.
Michael G. Thompson, PhD.–Consultant, lecturer, author and psychologist, specializing in children and families. Bessel A. van der Kolk, M.D.Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University and Medical Director of the HRI Trauma Center in Boston. Well-known teacher, researcher and clinician in the area of post-traumatic stress.
